About Dave Graham-Squire

Dave Graham-Squire is a statistician, specializing in computation and quantitative methods, for the Center for Labor Research and Education. After college, he worked as an IT consultant and a pension actuary, and spent a few years collaborating with political and social justice organizations including Procurador de los Derechos Humanos (Guatemala), El Departmento de Planeamiento (Ecuador, Universidad Central), the ACLU, and Peace Action. Dave joined the Labor Center in 2006. His work primarily focuses on the California labor market and how businesses and working families are affected by labor and health care policy. In recent years he’s worked as a statistical programmer and technical advisor on the California Simulation of Insurance Markets (CalSIM). Developed jointly with the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, CalSIM models the impacts of various policies on health insurance coverage in California. In 2018, Dave received a Ph.D. in Statistics from UC Berkeley. His graduate work focused on machine learning techniques for classification and prediction, and statistical methods for causal inference.
