Angelique is the Labor Center’s new program assistant. She provides assistance to Lead Instructors of the Labor Center’s Leadership Schools. As an undergraduate at UC Davis, Angelique served as the educational chair of MEChA, worked in recruiting people of color into institutions of higher education, founded La Familia de UCD and the Student Labor Coalition as an intern with AFSCME Local 3299, and participated in the UC Berkeley Labor Center’s Labor Summer program. After receiving her degree in Chicana/o Studies and Communications, Angelique went on to work at her internship site SEIU Local 817 (now part of SEIU 521) as a field representative and union organizer. She later worked as an organizer with the janitors of the South Bay at SEIU Local 1877.
