Labor Center Projects on Working Women


Summer Institute on Union Women: The Summer Institute on Union Women (SIUW) is a week-long leadership development program, focusing on solidarity, skill building, and learning. The program is held annually at rotating locations in the west coast, co-sponsored by the United Association of Labor Educators and the AFL-CIO. Courses include: collective bargaining; developing leadership skills; political action; conflict resolution; balancing work and family; immigrants' rights; global economics; and many others.
