Please complete the following brief survey.

The Strategic Campaign Workshop is open to both unions and community-based organizations that are embarking on, or in the midst of, strategic campaigns. It is essential that your organization have a campaign either already underway or in the formative stages as each section of the training will solicit and draw on real examples from your campaign. Please complete the following to give us a sense of your background, campaign work, and hopes for the training.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Lack of experience does NOT disqualify a potential workshop participant.

1) What role(s) do you play in your union/organization? (for example: member? paid staff? elected officer?) What specifically do you do? How long have you been with the organization? Have you held other roles in the organization previously?

2) What experience do you have with Strategic Campaigns?

If you are with a union, have you been involved in strategic organizing or bargaining campaigns (also called corporate or comprehensive campaigns)? What were the campaigns and what were your responsibilities?

If you are with a community based organization, have you been involved in campaigns that have utilized a diversity of strategies, including research, communications, politics, legal, worker or community organizing? If so, what were the campaigns and what were your responsibilities?

3) What organizing or collective bargaining campaigns (if you are with a union) or community campaigns (if you are with a community organization) is your union/organization facing currently or in the next year or two. Are you involved in these campaigns? If so, how?

4) Please identify an upcoming campaign (union or community based) for which you would like to develop a strategic campaign plan during the workshop. Please provide the following information:

For unions: Employer name, industry, type of workers your union represents or hopes to represent, number of workers, and geographic location.

For community organizations: Goal of campaign, target or decision maker, geographic location and description of base or member leaders to be involved.

5) Do you have research on this employer (if union) or target (if community based) that you could bring with you to the workshop? How familiar are you with the workers, or grassroots leaders, in this campaign and the issues that they face?

6) What do you hope to get from this workshop?
