Velasco

Brianna Velasco joined the Labor Center after completing a term as an AmeriCorps VISTA at SEO Scholars San Francisco, where she helped to empower low-income high school students in their pursuit for affordable higher education. She previously worked with The Civics Center to encourage youth civic engagement and assisted the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor through data collection. In 2020, Brianna graduated with a BA in sociology and labor studies from UCLA. Brianna’s participation in UCLA’s Labor Summer Research Program helped shed light on the experiences of student workers in L.A. during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthened her interest in labor rights and the labor movement.
