About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Avila is a graduate of UC Davis with a BA in sociology and political science. Her first glimpse into the labor movement was in 2019 as an AFSCME Union Scholar where she spent a summer with unionized child care providers in Rochester, New York. After participating in Labor Summer ’21, Elizabeth worked as a tenant counselor and organizer for the North Bay Organizing Project, then as Internal Organizing Coordinator for United Farm Workers. She is motivated by the injustices her parents experienced as immigrant, agricultural workers in the Central Valley and holds a strong, personal commitment to social and economic justice.
