Kelly Quinn is a PhD candidate in sociology at UC Berkeley. Her research examines the ways in which labor market power dynamics influence occupation-level subcontracting. At the Labor Center, Quinn is currently studying efforts by unions to limit the use of outsourcing and secure better compensation and protections for service workers at the University of California. She has previously helped develop a framework for measuring job quality as part of the High Road Training Partnerships Program, and analyzed how unstable scheduling arrangements affect service and retail workers as part of the Shift Project. Before coming to Berkeley, Quinn worked as an analyst at MDRC, a nonprofit policy research organization.
