Laura brings 15 years’ experience as an internal and external organizer with unions in California, including the Writers’ Guild of America West, AFSCME 3299, Peralta Federation of Teachers, the AFT/CFT California Organizing Project, and the National Union of Health Care Workers. Most recently Laura served as chief negotiator for contract bargaining at the California Nurses Association, where she led a labor and community coalition effort that, following a five-day strike, won nurses a four-year contract with 14% increases and resulted in the Alameda County Board of Supervisors’ reform of the governance of the county health system.
Laura enjoys hiking, music, cooking and eating vegan food.
