About Mckela
Mckela Kanu is a researcher from New Hampshire. Her interest in labor was kickstarted by working with a local Labor Council, where she was responsible for drafting a labor education bill to be presented to the state assembly.
During her senior year in college, she was involved in building momentum and strategic planning in organizing for student workers. She has also compiled and presented research on jury disparities in Minnesota to judges and lawyers to assist with providing recommendations on creating a more equitable system. She is a graduate from Hamilton College with honors in world politics and is a former UC Berkeley Labor Summer 2021 intern. The internship was a catalyst for her passion in improving conditions for marginalized workers.
