About Will

Will Toaspern is a lead policy researcher for the Green Economy Program. His research is primarily focused on supporting the Green Empowerment Zone (GEZ) initiative in Contra Costa County, which will help advance a high-road clean energy economy in the region. Before becoming full-time staff, Will was a graduate student researcher in the Green Economy Program, helping to lead research on refinery transitions in Contra Costa County, state labor and workforce standards in the green economy, and a worker/community-led green industrial policy approach. Will has also worked as a policy director, organizer, and researcher, with a focus on racial, economic, and housing justice. Will has a Masters of Public Policy degree from the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy (’24).
