Solidarity Spring
Spring 2025 1 unit DeCal + Spring Break “Alt Break” 2025
Open to Freshmen, Sophomores, Transfer Students
Learn about the labor movement with Solidarity Spring!
Solidarity Spring is a student-facilitated one-unit course (DeCal) through the Gender and Women’s Studies Department combined with an “alternative” Spring Break program offered by the UC Berkeley Labor Center. Solidarity Spring introduces undergraduates to the labor movement through workshops, events, art, and cultural experiences on and off campus. Through the DeCal, students meet once a month to learn about the Bay Area labor movement in preparation to engage with labor and community campaigns during the three-day Spring Break program. Transportation and meals during the Spring Break will be covered by the Labor Center, and students will receive funds for their participation.
This year’s theme: Unions as Collective Power for Marginalized Groups
Spring Break dates: March 26 – March 28
