5.1.f Technology system review and oversight

In some agreements, unions have secured a role in the ongoing review, governance, and approval of technology systems—particularly those involving sensitive data or workplace safety concerns. Collaborative efforts focus on evaluating wearable and biometric technologies, setting data governance standards, monitoring technological developments, and ensuring fair and consistent implementation of systems that affect working conditions.

  • Review and approve/deny wearable device requests, considering whether the device’s functionality has been validated and if it may pose any potential harm to individuals (including players) when used as intended. (NBPA-OLMS1)
