Advanced Online Media Skills is geared to more experienced practitioners—those who know the basics but now want to develop their skills in creating online products like blogs and websites, and to obtain a broader understanding of how the tools work together as a whole. Participants should bring direct applications from their union in order to emerge from the workshop with tools that are ready to be plugged in to their campaigns and organizing work.

Introduction to Online Media Skills is geared toward organizers, staff, and members who are new to online media campaign work. Its focus is an exposure to basic skills leading to an understanding of how to use these skills. Students will learn about

    • Email alerts
    • Websites
    • Online newsletters
  • Emerging online tools and tactics
    • Blogging
    • Podcasting
    • Social networking
    • Mobile engagement

If you have little or no experience with online media communications and would like to explore the possibilities, this workshop is a great opportunity for you to learn foundational skills in a supportive group setting.
